Visual Aid: Spots of the world

The Spots of the World. James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Description

James 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

INFORMATION

The world spoken of here is not the earth as a physical body but speaks of the condition of being in the world and not being in the Spirit.  The world is the system of living that rejects God, chooses self over Godly things and does not consider the eternal consequences of ones actions.

WHAT IT MEANS TO OUR FAMILY

As believers of Christ we must strive to live in the Spirit, not in the flesh.  The flesh will lead us to conduct ourselves as shown in the spots of the world graphic.  Each of those spots represents sinfulness and is a reason that Jesus died on the cross.
