Visual Aid: God deals with nations

God deals with nations. Zephaniah 3:6 I have cut off nations; their battlements are in ruins; I have laid waste their streets so that no one walks in them; their cities have been made desolate, without a man, without an inhabitant.

Description

Psalms 9:17 tells us “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”

Regardless of how intelligent and powerful men think they are, we are not invincible – God is still in control.  God takes credit for destroying nations.  In particular, he provides a plain warning to nations that forget God – they will be destroyed.

Have we forgotten the true and living God?  Have we abandoned the precepts of God?  Have we declared that God’s ways are evil and ours are good?  Sadly, in America, the answer to these questions is often YES.  But all hope is not lost.  God declares the warning and makes it plain but he also provides a means of restoration.  2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us how to restore our nation.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

We should constantly pray for our nation and pray that God’s people will heed the warning.

Zephaniah 3:6 “I have cut off nations; their battlements are in ruins; I have laid waste their streets so that no one walks in them; their cities have been made desolate, without a man, without an inhabitant.”
